Ben Hogan golf ball launched
JAKARTA: Indonesian golfers are now provided with a greater choice of golf balls after the United States-based Spalding Sports Worldwide launched the Ben Hogan golf ball here on Friday.
The Ben Hogan ball is the first four-piece urethane golf ball, which, according to Robert Zucker, the company's official in charge of Asia and the Middle East, drives longer and more accurately than ordinary three-piece urethane balls.
"The ball uses core energy transfer technology which determines the trajectory of the ball," he said, during a presentation at the Prestasi Andalan Golf Driving Range in Central Jakarta.
The ball was named after the 1950s American golfing star, Ben Hogan, who set up the company to sell the ball back in 1953. After changing ownership several times in the last two decades, the company was acquired by Spalding in 1998.
