Bemos told to get lost

DENPASAR, Bali: Owners of three-wheeled public vehicle, popularly called bemos, have been given until the end of this month to clear out of Denpasar streets.

The Antara news agency reported the Bali government has been phasing out bemos because they are too old and no longer comfortable.

Bemo owners have been informed of the deadline since the start of the year but most of them have ignored and continued to operate the vehicles. Of the original 322 bemos, only 100 have been withdrawn since the announcement was made.(pwn)
