Bekasi to build motorbike circuit

BEKASI: To stop illegal drag racing in many areas of Bekasi, the regental administration is planning to build a circuit where teenagers can race and at the same time not endanger the public.

"We believe that if we facilitate them, they can be put on the right track and follow in the footsteps of national motorcycle racer Jayadi, who is a Bekasi resident," said deputy regent Solihin Sari on Thursday.

Solihin, who is also the chairman of the Bekasi chapter of the Indonesian Motorcycle Association (IMI), said that the numbers involved in the drag races number in the thousands.
