Beetle lovers to hold meeting

JAKARTA (JP): Volkswagen owners from 35 clubs throughout the
country will meet here on Aug. 15 at the '99 VW Festival, to be
held in the parking lot of the Jakarta Police headquarters on Jl.
Sudirman.

The one-day meeting will see various contests for Beetle
lovers, event organizer R.B. Hariprasetio said over the weekend.

There are prizes the Best Vintage VW, Best Custom, Best
Interior and Best of the Show.

"But the main purpose of this festival is to allow VW fans
from all over Indonesia to come together and exchange experiences
and ideas about their VW Beetles," Hariprasetio said.

The public is also welcome to join the event, which is
collecting money to be donated to needy children.

The organizer is also offering a single cash prize of Rp
400,000 (US$60) for the best photo of a Volkswagen. Only people
who do not own a Volkswagen can enter this competition.
