Beauty requires health and confidence

Three young women chatted in a bedroom. They were talking about some articles in a magazine. Everyone looked happy when suddenly one of them grumbled about her lack of confidence in speaking before the public.
Intan, the woman, said that her lack of confidence had become an obstacle in her social interaction.
"What is the key to build self-confidence?," she asked.
Meanwhile, her friend Lili and Irma have different problems. Lili complained about her inability to choose the right costume for different occasions while Irma did not know how to take care of her hair properly.
"I am invited to a birthday party, but I don't think I will come to the party because my hair is not good," said Irma.
The conversation of the three young women was only "a play" performed during the launch of Sunsilk Circle of Beauty at the Ballroom of Hotel Nikko Jakarta recently.
They chatted on the stage, which had been decorated and modified into a bedroom.
Intan, Lili and Irma are only few women who have courage to unveil their weaknesses. Instead of disclosing their imperfection, many women often bury it deep.
The three young women understand that their shortcoming will affect their performance and affect their social interaction.
Like many other women, Irma sees her hair as one of her important assets. If the hair is not good looking, it will affect the women's confidence.
It is undeniably that the hair is a decisive factor in someone's beauty. Hairstylist Monique Natalia stressed that hair was a crown to human -- particularly women.
"That is why everyone must keep the hair healthy," she added.
Aside from a matter of hair, beauty is also about fashion, makeup, self-confidence, etiquette and health.
Ember, a hairstylist, said that hair treatment could be learned from books or experts. Had a women been a master in hair treatment, she would not go to salon for her hair, he added.
Furthermore, Michael Pondaag suggested that in choosing costume or dress, someone should always remember that he or she must become themselves.
"Fashion that we choose should fit our personality, otherwise we will become someone else," he said.
About health, yoga guru Yudhi Widyantoro recommended that breath exercises would also improve the health of the body and the mind.
"Meditation will improve the function of our internal organs. It will also help reveal our inner beauty," said Yudhi.
Yudhi, Michael, Ember and Monique are among the consultants that will share their knowledge with women in Jakarta and other cities through Sunsilk Circle of Beauty.
The program consists of Sunsilk Beauty Mobile and Sunsilk Beauty Camp during which the Indonesian women will get information and knowledge on how to improve their beauty.
Under the Sunsilk Beauty Mobile, some beauty consultants will visit universities in seven cities, Jakarta, Bandung (West Java), Semarang (Central Java), Yogyakarta, Surabaya (East Java), Medan (North Sumatra) and Makassar (South Sulawesi).
Meanwhile, 150 selected women will join in the four-day Sunsilk Beauty Camp in Bali from Nov.27 through Nov.30.
Sunsilk Senior Brand Manager Umiyana Savitri said that the event would be targeted at women in their ages between 18 and 25 years old.
"In those ages, women start to appreciate and to know the importance of beauty completely," she said.
Separately, Kerastase Brand Manager Monika Ardianti said that Kerastase had organized beauty workshops in an attempt to improve the beauty awareness among women.
Different from other products, Kerastase targets matured women at their ages between 25 and 50.
Through the workshops, women would understand their types of hair skin and the treatment required.
"We offer first-class haircare services and a session of consultations at our clinics," Monika added.
--------------------------------------- Avoid distress for healthy skin
Born with brown skin, many Indonesian women often dream of having smooth and white skin. They may visit skin treatment center for their dream.
For most of women, their face must be clean and smooth. They will not tolerate even one spot of acne on it. Usually, they would consult with experts for that.
"There are cases that people come to me for their acne. Mostly, acne is because of distress," dermatologist Irma Bernadette, a lecturer at the University of Indonesia, told The Jakarta Post.
According to Irma, about 60 percent or 70 percent of acne are because of distress. Women may get distressed ahead of examination, moving for another job or breaking up relationship.
Apart from distress, acne could because of unhealthy lifestyle -- smoking or occasional bathing.
To help women keeping their skin health, Irma, who also serves patients at Cipto Mangunkusumo Hospital in Jakarta and runs Ibeskin beauty clinic in Depok, share her knowledge.
