In response to our customer's complaint about the loss of some
money from a withdrawal from our Wisma Alia branch, we would like
to clarify as follows:
* On Thursday, Dec. 10, 1998, the customer withdrew Rp 30 million
in cash, and the money was received by the customer after the
money was counted by a money counting machine in the presence of
the customer. The customer was satisfied that each pack contained
100 notes.
* On Tuesday, Dec. 15, 1998, our customer came back to our office
complaining that the money withdrawn was Rp 1,450,000 short. We
traced the transaction and made a careful check on the teller
concerned. But no cash difference was found, and the daily cash
flow from Dec. 10 to Dec. 16 was balanced.
* We suggested that the customer carefully retrace all activities
done during that period to find out whether the customer made a
payment exceeding the specified amount.
Finally, we would like to advise all our customers to check
their money collected from our teller before leaving the bank's
counter to avoid any inconvenience in the future. Should any
discrepancy arise after leaving the bank's counter, the customer
alone should be responsible for the loss of their money.
