BCA has profit of Rp 606.73b

JAKARTA (JP): Publicly listed Bank Central Asia (BCA) booked a pretax profit of Rp 606.73 (about US$71 million) during the first six months of this year compared to net loss of Rp 579.47 billion in the same period last year.

The bank said its total assets increased 22.5 percent to Rp 104.94 trillion as of June from Rp 85.68 trillion in the same month last year.

The bank attributed the increase in total assets to a surge in third-party funds. BCA also said its loan portfolio nearly doubled to Rp 5.1 trillion as of June from Rp 2.6 trillion in the same month last year.

The bank's equity reached a total of Rp 5.67 trillion as of June, with a capital adequacy ratio of 44.27 percent. It said its equity increased from Rp 2.85 trillion in June last year as a result of a reevaluation of the bank's fixed assets and an increase in profit. (hen)
