Bazaar at Old City
SEMARANG: The mayoralty opened a three-day bazaar at Kota Lama (Old City) yesterday, Antara reported.
The event is part of commemorations to mark Indonesia's 52nd independence anniversary, bazaar organizing committee member Agnes Murni said.
The bazaar has two goals: to promote local products and also to promote Kota Lama as a tourist attraction, Agnes said.
Hotels and shops in the area are also holding promotional campaigns, offering discounts of between 5 and 50 percent for the remainder of August.
The Indonesian Museum of Records and the Mandala Bhakti Museum have waived entrance fees for the entire month. (emb)
