Basketball 3-on-3 at Sarinah
JAKARTA (JP): Professional basketball players from the Kobatama league are expected to join the three-on-three contest held by state-owned retail company Sarinah Department Store this weekend.
Dudy Gambiro of the Indonesian Basketball Association said yesterday that 58 teams of a possible 100 have confirmed their participation in the tournament staged in the parking lot of the department store on June 8 and June 9.
The organizers have provided a total of Rp 7.5 million (US$3,200) in cash prizes for competition winners. The contest is being held in conjunction with the celebration of Sarinah's 34th anniversary, the republic's 51st independence anniversary and the city's 469th anniversary.
Three-point shooting and long-range shooting contests will also be held in the two-day competition. (yan)
