BASF clarifies

PT BASF Indonesia would like to clarify issues raised in a news report, Hospitals, firms accused of polluting rivers, that appeared on page 8 of the July 26 edition of The Jakarta Post:

As the world's largest chemical company, BASF is committed to Responsible Care, which includes environmental protection as one of its principles. In line with this commitment, PT BASF Indonesia, in its day-to-day operation, has implemented all requirements with regards to environmental protection as regulated by the laws of the Republic of Indonesia.

Upon these grounds, we would like to declare that the news referring to PT BASF Indonesia, as mentioned above, is not true, and that PT BASF Indonesia has never polluted rivers in Bekasi through the disposal of its waste.

We hope this will rectify the facts.
