Baseball

What's this? Baseball is both an underreported and "the most interesting game on the planet." And the players can play nine innings apiece -- sometimes -- to furnish their fans with a single home run. No doubt baseball has its moments just like every other game, including horseshoes, octopus and dwarf- throwing, but "most interesting" and "obviously" so? Aw, come on, Marshall Lesesne, you know yourself you can go and paper an upstairs room or read the paper cover to cover in the smallest room in the house, return and still nobody has scored a home run; all that has happened is, in the immortal words of baseball commentator Jerry Coleman, that someone has been "throwing up in the bull pen" and that he "is obscured by his number."

Now, if you had watched that cracking game between Bulgaria and Rumania the other night you would not complain about 1-0 over 90 minutes. What is this about high scores anyway? The highest ever score in College Football (American style) is 222-0, Georgia Tech. over Cumberland University. Was that interesting?
