Banten to get resort

JAKARTA (JP): Prominent businessman Sudwikatmono, foster brother of President Soeharto, is developing a "tourist city" in Tanjung Lesung, Pandeglang regency, Banten.

The Rp 1.5 trillion (US$632 million) project, called Tanjung Lesung, is located on a 1,500-hectare plot and is to be developed by PT Banten West Java Tourism Development Corp, a consortium controlled by Sudwikatmono.

The company's director, S.D. Harmono, said yesterday a number of hotels and recreation facilities would be built in Tanjung Lesung.

A number of hotels, resorts, apartments and other tourist facilities are also currently being developed in the Labuan and Pandeglang regencies, Banten. Among the properties are Clarion, Marbella and Mega Cemara. (icn)
