Banner festival to be held in Bali

DENPASAR, Bali: The Arti Foundation, in cooperation with the
Pembangunan Sanur Foundation and Switzerland's the Rainbow
Project, have invited artists and students from 50 countries to
participate in an international umbul-umbul (banner) festival to
be held in Bali.

The festival, the first of its kind, will be held on Sanur
Beach and at Puputan Badung field on Aug. 27 to Aug. 30, the
chairman of the event's organizing committee, I Kadek Suardana,
said here on Monday.

He said participants from Australia, Japan, Austria, the
United States, Argentina, Thailand, India, Sweden, Israel,
Afghanistan, Nepal, Tibet, Nigeria, Kosovo, Serbia, Hungary,
Peru, Sri Lanka, Denmark and Sudan had been invited to the event.
"Participants can enter three to 10 18-meter banners each," he
