Banned media

I was shocked to learn of the revocation of the publishing licenses of the three magazines, Tempo, Editor and DeTIK, by the government on the grounds that the three media have endangered the national stability.

Is this act by the government really necessary while we are trying to uphold openness? If the government wishes to maintain security and protect the people's interest, why did the government resort to banning the media, which are needed to provide information for the society? Now, where else can we find accurate reports? Doesn't the government's measure run counter to the Law on Press which rules out revocation of publishing licenses?
