Bank DKI will collect parking fees
Bank DKI has been appointed the official bank to collect parking fees in line with 1994 Gubernatorial Decree No. 201, which is aimed at reducing leakage in parking revenue.
Suharto, the bank's president, said recently that the city- owned bank is prepared to carry out the mission entrusted to it by the municipal administration, and has already formed a special task force and provided extra facilities to manage the parking funds.
The new decree, which came into effect on Aug. 1, stipulates that the city's parking attendants operating along seven main roads deposit the fees they collect daily into the nearest branch offices of the bank. The roads include Jl. Sabang, Jl. HOS. Cokroaminoto, in Central Jakarta, Jl. Pluit, North Jakarta, Jl. Falatehan, South Jakarta, and Jl. Matraman, Jl. Jatinegara Barat, East Jakarta and Jl. Hayam Wuruk, West Jakarta.
Chief of the City Parking Agency, Soemaryono, said the implementation of the new system is expected to reduce leakage of parking funds. (03)
