Bank customer unprotected
I am a Fix 'n Fast (credit card) holder at Bank Danamon. For two years, I have been making my monthly payments through a Bank Danamon teller, with the imposition of a Rp 5,000 fee per transaction (I was not informed of this fee prior to signing up to Fix 'n Fast).
As of July 1 the fee was increased to Rp 15,000 (a 300 percent increase) for non-customers (I do not have a savings account at Danamon). As a cardholder, I am very disappointed in and even furious at the bank management's arbitrary and unilateral decision to raise the fee 300 percent.
The Bank Danamon management is collaborating with four other banks in implementing this policy! My question is, who is protecting us as consumers? Clearly, I did not succeed in settling this problem when I talked with bank employees. All they could say was that it was the policy of the management.
