Bank Bali enters Shanghai

JAKARTA (JP): Bank Bali opened a representative office in Shanghai, China yesterday as part of its overseas expansion program.

The opening of the new representative office made Bank Bali, which is listed on the Jakarta Stock Exchange (JSX), the first Indonesian bank to operate in the city.

The bank said yesterday that the representative office was officially opened by chief commissioner Sukanta Tanudjaja and the Indonesian economic councilor in China, Haswandi S. Effendi.

Bank Bali has opened branches and representative offices in Los Angeles, the Cayman Islands and Singapore.

Bank Bali also operates in Hong Kong through its subsidiary Bali International Finance.

Bank Bali's president Rudy Ramli said Bank Bali, which has 265 branches and 320 automated teller machine (ATMs), would further focus its services on retail banking. (aly)
