Bangka Belitung exports to Mideast

PANGKALPINANG, Bangka Belitung: Home industry products from
Bangka Belitung province are now being sold on the Middle Eastern
market, Pangkal Pinang mayor, Zulkarnain Karim, said on Monday.

"We sent a container of crispy squid chips to Saudi Arabia
through Jakarta," Zulkarnain said. He attributed the successful
export of the chips to the recent visit of Pangkal Pinang
officials to Jeddah.

"They accepted my offer and placed an initial order for six
containers of squid chips," he said. He did not give details on
the value of the exports. -- Antara
