Bandung student dies of overdose

BANDUNG: A university student was found dead on Monday of a suspected overdose of shabu-shabu (crystal methamphetamine).

Mohammad Zeni Zaelani, 23, was found inside the house of an elderly woman on Jl. Kiaracondong at 11:30 a.m. He was foaming at the mouth.

It is believed the male student and the woman, Ati, a widow, had in a shabu-shabu party, Antara reported.

Police found a syringe, an inhaler and dozens of Lexotan barbiturate pills near the body of the university student.

Zaelani had stayed at Ati's house for 10 days. It is unclear why the student was not staying at his parent's house on Jl. Kemakmuran in Rancasari.

Bandung Tengah Police officer First Lt. Dedy Kurniadi said detectives were still questioning witnesses, including Ati, prior to completing their investigation. (jun)
