Bandung BI fire being investigated

BANDUNG: Police are waiting for the forensic laboratory results in the investigation into last week's fire at Bank Indonesia on Jl. Braga, Antara reported Thursday.

In the incident, a security guard named Wira sustained injuries to his back. The fire first spread from the basement used to store money, the agency reported.

Antara reported that a pile of camphor in the basement used as an air freshener was believed to have caused the fire.

"Camphor is a substance which easily absorbs the smell of money. It's cheap and easy to get," Abdul Salam, BI's Bandung branch director, said. (edt)
