Bambang not in Bank Surya

JAKARTA (JP): Bambang Sutrisno was no longer vice chief commissioner of the now defunct Bank Surya when the bank received emergency liquidity credit from Bank Indonesia in January, 1998, Bambang's lawyer Sudjono stated here on Friday.

"Bambang entirely quit all his positions at both Bank Surya and the Golden Truly retail chain immediately after he sold all his shares in the two companies to his business partner Sudwikatmono under a memorandum of understanding signed on Sept.8, 1997," Sudjono added.

Sudjono made the statement in commenting on a report early this week by the a special House of Representatives investigative team which concluded that listed Bambang Sutrisno as one of 56 persons implicated in the alleged abuse of Bank Indonesia's emergency liquidity credits to ailing banks.
