Balinese dancers to join festival

DENPASAR, Bali: The Balinese Art Center will send 70 dancers
to the traditional and contemporary dance festival to be held in
Germany from Nov. 1 to Nov. 16, Antara reported.

"The troupe will perform modern Kecak and Tri Gambuh dances,"
the head of the art center, I Nyoman Nika Naya, said here on
Wednesday.

The Tri Gambuh dance, which is the mother of all Balinese
dances, is well-known in Europe, especially in Germany and
Sweden, since the 1920s, he said. (edt)
