Bali welcomes world's practical shooters

Six days and counting, Bali, Indonesia, here we come.

The 28th General Assembly of the practical shooting sports organizing body and the 2004 AustralAsia Shooting Championship will run from Nov. 27 to Dec. 4 in Pulau Serangan, Bali.

Along with these two events, Indonesia will also host the first ever Level Three Shotgun Match.

The Serangan shooting range is considered one of the best in the world, with 40 plus shooting bays that can cater to both handgun and shotgun competitions.

Here, the different divisions under the handgun and shotgun categories will face challenging firing courses developed by local and international course designers.

Officiating the championship will be an international panel of certified Range Officers working together with our very own National Range Officers.

A first-time showcase in International Practical Shooting Confederation (IPSC) history, a Level IV match will feature a challenging 3-day, 24-handgun course of fire (COF) and a 2-day, 16-shotgun COF, Level III match.

Bali is, no doubt, the perfect venue for such a prestigious event -- a paradise of tourism second to none, with its long white sand beaches and clear blue seas. You will also find its serene landscape, vibrant culture and warm people an experience never to be forgotten.

The 2004 AustralAsia Shooting championship is an important event for practical shooting, as it serves as a gauge for shooters eyeing the XIV WorldShoot 2005 in Ecuador.

Confirmed attendees include the world's top practical shooting Grand Masters Eric Grauffel of France, Martin Kamenicek of the Czech Republic, Michael Voiqt, and Jojo Vidanes and JJ Racaza of the U.S. Of course, Errol Thomas, Brody McIntosh, Michael Ku, Jug Lejano, Roy Hariyanto and Lady Shooter Mary Grace Tan of AustralAsia will compete against 450 other shooters for the top honor in their respective divisions.

Aside from individual honors for the Open, Standard, Production, Revolver Standard and Modified classes, team awards will be awarded for top finishers.
