Bali to host money laundering meet
JAKARTA: Indonesia and Australia will co-host a two-day international conference on combating money laundering and terrorist financing on Dec. 17 in Bali.
Members of the Association of Southeast Asia Nations (ASEAN), other neighboring countries and the United States are expected to participate in the conference.
"We aim to strengthen the political will of participating countries in curbing money laundering activities and identifying terrorists' financial sources," Indonesian Minister of Foreign Affairs Hassan Wirayuda said on Wednesday.
He further said that the conference could also help Indonesian officials improve their capabilities in identifying money laundering activities.
The conference will be held at the Bali International Convention Center in the Nusa Dua area. --JP
