Bali 'perfect' spot for beach volleyball

SANUR, Bali: Although Jakarta also once played host, Bali's outstanding attractions led to it being picked for a third time for this week's 4th women's Swatch-FIVB World Tour 2005 in Sanur, Bali.

"Bali is the perfect venue for a beach volleyball tournament," the head of the organizing committee, Kabul Riswanto, said during a press conference on Monday

"This island is one of the best tourist attractions in the world and has unique attractions," he said, adding that the beaches and other essential facilities were also very good for the prestigious competition.

A total of 32 teams, including national number ones Ni Puty Timy Yudhani and Devota Rahawarin, will take part in the event at Inna Grand Bali Beach Hotel from Sept. 14-Sept. 18. -- JP
