Bali overrun by domestic tourists

DENPASAR, Bali: Tourists, mostly Indonesian students and their families, have packed tourist resorts in the resort island of Bali since last month, when this year's holiday season began.

As of Saturday, for example, the tourists, mostly from Java and Sumatra, descended upon and wandered around tourist resorts in Denpasar, Badung, Gianyar and Tabanan.

The manager of Sangeh tourist resort, I Wayan Sumohon, said that on normal days, the number of tourists visiting the resort stood at a daily average of 300 people, but since the holiday season started last month, the number had reached 1,000 people per day. -- Antara
