Bali bomb sites reopened

DENPASAR: Two restaurants at Jimbaran beach on Bali Island that were bombed on Oct. 1 were reopened on Saturday.

Four Hindu priests presided over a "cleansing" ceremony in front of the two restaurants: Kafe Nyoman and Kafe Menega. The event was also attended by Bali Police chief Insp. Made Mangku Pastika and Badung Regent A.A. Gde Agung.

Three suicide bombers launched almost simultaneous attacks on the two restaurants and another restaurant in Bali's Kuta tourist spot, all packed with Saturday night diners, killing 20 innocent people. This was the second series of terror bomb attack on Bali after the first in 2002, which killed 202 people, mostly foreign tourists.

The police until now have not been able to identify the three suicide bombers or find the masterminds behind the attacks. -- Tempointeraktif.com
