Bali Big Sale opens in Kuta
DENPASAR, Bali: "Bali Big Sale 1998," featuring export commodities including electronics, household goods and handicrafts, is being held in Kuta's central parking lot.
Opened by Badung's Regent I Gusti Bagus Alit Putra Friday night, the event will last till Aug. 9 with some 212 entrepreneurs from big cities in Java and Bali participating.
"The exhibition is aimed at boosting tourism in Bali and providing consumers a chance to get quality goods at relatively low prices," Alit Putra said as quoted by Antara wire service.
The Bali Big Sale was immediately flooded by people, including foreign tourists, as soon as it opened.
