Bakrie, Tjipta Niaga tie up

JAKARTA (JP): Steel bridge manufacturers PT Trans-Bakrie, a subsidiary of the publicly-listed PT Bakrie & Brothers, has appointed state trading company Tjipta Niaga to market its product in Indonesia.

Tjipta Niaga has agreed to become Trans-Bakrie's main sales agent countrywide, Bakrie & Brothers revealed in an official statement.

Tjipta Niaga, which has branches across Indonesia, will receive a commission for every sale.

Trans-Bakrie, a joint venture with Australia's Transfield Pty Ltd, is currently supplying 4,000 tons of steel frame supplies to companies in Australia and the United States.

The company is also working on the fabrication and construction of offshore oil and gas industries, including for Unocal and Maxus, according to the statement. (03)
