Badung market to be rebuilt

DENPASAR: The Denpasar mayoralty will soon rebuild Badung market which was razed by fire last September and has vowed that small traders would be given priority for sites in the biggest traditional market in the province, spokesman Nyoman Subrata said on Thursday.

Badung market, established in 1950, is situated in a strategic location adjacent to the Kumba Sari market.

Subrata said small-scale traders had rejected the mayoralty's offer of relocation to the Uma Anyar market, saying that the latter was not a favorable location for their businesses.

"Small-scale traders must be patient as the administration has given its word to rebuild the three-story market soon," he said as quoted by Antara. (lup)
