Badminton meet dates announced

JAKARTA (JP): The five-star JVC Asian Badminton Championships
will take place in Bangkok from Sept. 1 to Sept. 5 at the
Nimibutr Gymnasium National Stadium.

World top shuttlers from China, Indonesia, Malaysia and South
Korea have confirmed their participation in the US$136,000 event,
according to the Asian Badminton Confederation (ABC) secretary-
general, Datok Punch Gunalan.

The championships, which will feature all 22 member
federations of the ABC, will feature men's and women's singles,
men's and women's doubles and mixed doubles. (yan)
