Bad weather disrupts traffic at seaport

SURABAYA: Gale-force winds and large waves disrupted sea traffic on Tuesday between the Surabaya Port and the Kamal Port on Madura island.

Waves reached 1.5 meters in height and the winds were blowing between 60 and 70 kilometers per hour, said Edi Waluyo, the head of the Meteorological and Geophysics Office in Surabaya.

The Surabaya Port Authority was forced to delay ships leaving the port by up to 30 minutes because of the elements. -- Antara
