Baby corpse found in waterway

TANGERANG (JP): The corpse of a baby boy with the umbilical
cord still attached was found floating in a waterway along Jl.
Pinang, East Pamulang, Tangerang, on Friday evening.

"At first I thought it was only a doll, so I just let it be.
But on a second look, I realized it was a real baby," said local
resident Maryani, who found the body, told Pamulang Police.

A police officer speculated that it was likely the baby had
been born outside of wedlock and had been unwanted.

After questioning several residents near the place where the
corpse was found, he concluded that the mother did not live in
the neighborhood.(01)
