Awards conferred on 10 art figures

YOGYAKARTA: The provincial administration has conferred awards
upon ten notable figures for their outstanding contribution to
arts and cultural development, Antara reported on Monday.

Yogyakarta Governor Sri Sultan Hamengku Buwono X presented the
awards on Monday evening to Umar Khayam, Soedarso SP, Soedarsono,
Damudoro Nuradyo, Iman Soetrisno, Ardiyanto Pranoto, Sri Murtini,
Abidah El Khaliegy and Anto Soegiartono alias Manthous. Relatives
collected a posthumous award for M. Junaedhi.

Ten students were also honored for their achievements in the
arts and culture arena. (swe)
