Austrian deported for violating rules
JAKARTA (JP): The Directorate General of Immigration has
deported Franz Viktor Eichenauer, an executive of Mercantile Club
Jakarta, for violating immigration regulations, an official said
on Sunday.
Zaiman Nurmatias, director of immigration supervision and
control, said in a statement that the Austrian citizen left
Jakarta for his home country from Soekarno-Hatta International
Airport on board a Cathay Pacific flight on Saturday.
"Eichenauer was deported because his activities here were no
longer suitable with the immigration permits given to him,"
Zaiman said.
"The Austrian came to Indonesia on Dec. 17 last year on a
limited stay visa as a restaurant manager of the club, which
belongs to PT Mahameru Adiceria, in the World Trade Center on Jl.
Sudirman, South Jakarta," he said.
However, Eichenauer also became the general manager of the
club's subsidiary in the BCA building, also on Jl. Jend.
Sudirman.
"This violates Article 50 of Immigration Law No. 9/1992,"
Zaiman said. (hhr)
