Australian firms to take part in air show
JAKARTA (JP): Some 30 Australian companies will participate in
the Indonesian Air Show 1996, which will open on June 22 at
Soekarno-Hatta international airport in Cengkareng.
"This is the largest presence we have had at any air show in
recent times. It illustrates our commitment to Indonesia and is a
measure of the successful partnerships that have already been
forged," Bruce Wallace, senior representative at the Australian
Trade Commission, said here over the weekend.
Among the Australian companies to take part in the air show
are Adeline Technology Network, Daaniel Systems Australia Ltd.,
Electro Optic Systems Ltd, Hawker De Havilland Ltd, Honeywell
Ltd, Intersystems (Asia-Pacific) Ltd, Rockwell Asta Components,
Spantech Ltd, Thomson Radar Australia Corp., and AWA Ltd.
Wallace said that Australia's aerospace industry employs
around 12,000 people and has a turnover of more than US$1.5
billion, with annual exports approaching $400 million. He added
that Australia's aerospace industry is a significant and highly
competitive supplier to international civil aircraft makers.
Australia's leading manufacturers of aerospace components have
long-term relationships with Boeing, Airbus and Lockheed-Martin,
yet this involvement is not limited to components for large
aircraft, he said.
He said that Australian companies also deal with air traffic
management and communications technologies, as well as the
design, development and operation of large airports. (13)
