Australian curriculum to be taught at local school
The number of schools offering international curricula has
increased remarkably over the past several years as a result of a
growing interest in high quality education in Indonesia.
The Australian International School and Yayasan Pendidikan
Bunda Mulia have, for example, recently formed a partnership to
establish a new school that will make international education
accessible to a larger number of Indonesian families.
The Australian International School currently has two campuses
in Jakarta and one in Bali, while Yayasan Pendidikan Bunda Mulia
has large campuses in Ancol and Sangaji, with around 4,000
students.
Situated on Jalan Lodan, Ancol, the new school will cater for
all nationalities and will be officially opened on 19 February,
2005.
The opening will be attended by the Minister for Education,
Dr. Bambang Sudibyo, the Australian Ambassador, David Ritchie and
other dignitaries.
"This is an exciting opportunity to forge new friendships
between our two countries and open doors for more Indonesians to
enjoy an international education at more affordable prices," said
Djoko Susanto, the founder of Yayasan Pendidikan Bunda Mulia.
The Sekolah Bunda Mulia Australian International School will
boast many great facilities such as spacious new classrooms,
outdoor and indoor sporting amenities, including an indoor
gymnasium, a library, computer and science laboratories as well
as multipurpose and performing arts auditoriums. For the
convenience of students, there will also be a bookshop and
clinic.--JP
