Australia urged to open consulate

KUPANG, East Nusa Tenggara: East Nusa Tenggara Governor Piet
A. Tallo asked the Australian government on Monday to open a
consulate general in Kupang, the capital of East Nusa Tenggara
province.

The presence of an Australia consulate general here would
expedite visa processing for East Nusa Tenggara residents wishing
to visit Australia, Tallo argued.

Tallo estimated that there would be a growing number of East
Nusa Tenggara residents visiting Australia in the near future
after Merpati and Airnorth Regional Airlines re-establish flights
between Darwin and Kupang in early July. -- JP
