Australia teaches IT to RI schools

JAKARTA: Australian Education International (AEI) consultants are visiting several universities and schools in Indonesia, where a pilot project of the use of information technology to improve the quality of math and science teachers is being conducted.

The Australian consultants, Alan White from the University of Western Sydney and Penelope Murphy from Woolonggong University will conclude on Tuesday their week-long visit, which will have taken them to the Surabaya State University, Yogyakarta State University and several high schools in Yogyakarta and Bandung.

AEI is working on its second project in as many years in Indonesia as part of a cooperation agreement signed between Canberra and the Southeast Asian Ministers of Education Organization (SEAMO) a few years ago. -- Antara
