Australia offers education grants

KUPANG, East Nusa Tenggara: The Australian government is
offering scholarships to Indonesians wishing to pursue
postgraduate studies in Australia, Antara said.

"In the academic year 1998/1999, we are offering scholarships
to 240 applicants from the government sector and 120 others from
the private sector," manager of Australia's International
Development Program (IDP) Ferdi Tanoni said yesterday.

Aug. 28 is the deadline for the submission of applications, he
added.

Doctorate scholarships are limited to lecturers, researchers
and planners, Ferdi said.
