Australia helps strengthen KPU
JAKARTA: Australia has provided A$650,000 (Rp 3.25 billion) in financial assistance to support the Australian Electoral Commission's preliminary program to help strengthen the institutional capacity of the General Elections Commission (KPU).
The Australian government helped the KPU by providing 20 staff trainers for its secretariat and other Indonesian government training agencies a "training the trainers" course.
The program provided the KPU with a group of trainers capable of passing on important election management and administrative skills to other KPU personnel.
The Australian Embassy's deputy head of mission, Neil Mules, presented certificates of completion for the course participants here on Friday. --Antara
