Attackers destroy bridge
BEKASI: About 20 unidentified men burned down a bridge connecting Paparen village and Patola village in Central Cikarang, Bekasi regency, on Tuesday at about 10:30 p.m.
Patola village head Mohamad Adim alleged that the incident was related to the poor results of the Indonesian Democratic Party of Struggle (PDI-P) in the recent legislative election. The bridge was built by party supporters before the election.
Residents of the two villages hope the Bekasi regency administration will rebuild the bridge, which is vital to transportation and communication between the two areas.
The incident is being investigated by the Central Cikarang Police. -- JP
