Attack on Diana not very sporting
Was Gwynne Dyer's mean-spirited, psychobabble commentary regarding the life and death of Diana, Princess of Wales, meant to be journalism? (Insight, Sept. 3).
Not only does Dyer show himself to be a poor writer in this bizarre, rambling, stream-of-consciousness style but he also demonstrates a profound lack of sensitivity.
In one breath, Dyer admonishes that there should be "no moralizing about the way (Diana) lived ..." but in the next breath he recounts -- in great detail -- an analysis of the princess's actions and motives.
The writer cannot have it both ways. Apparently Dyer has never heard the phrase: "It's not sporting to kick someone when he's (or in this case, she's) down." Time to try a dose of humanity.
