Astra ups stake in Astra Agro

JAKARTA: Automotive giant PT Astra International has spent
around Rp 34.6 billion (US$3.8 million) on 15.97 million shares
in its plantation subsidiary PT Astra Agro Lestari, at a price of
Rp 2,166 per share.

In a report to the Jakarta Stock Exchange on Tuesday, Astra
said that the purchase would increase the company's overall stake
in Astra Agro to 992.20 million shares, or 65 percent, from
976.23 million (63 percent). -- JP
