Astra introduces new logo

JAKARTA (JP): Publicly-listed Astra International has launched a new corporate logo symbolizing its developing business strategy, which is focussing on achieving full customer satisfaction.

Astra's president Rini M.S. Soewandi said the 42-year old Astra Group had grown and developed into an excellent, large conglomerate.

"But the 1997 economic crisis has forced us to critically review our shortcomings and competitive advantages, in the light of developing a new strategy to face the challenges of the new millennium," she said.

Astra, Indonesia's largest automobile company, is a widely- diversified group with large interests in motorcycle manufacturing, plantations, forest-based and heavy equipment industries and financial services.

"Our new corporate logo gives a more dynamic impression, including a better response to various changes, flexibility, entrepreneurial capability and international vision without neglecting its identity that is deeply rooted in professionalism, quality and integrity," Rini said in a statement.

Astra, she added, fully realizes that to retain customer loyalty it should be able to fulfill the demand for better quality and better services from its more discerning customers, wherever they reside in the country.

"For example, a buyer of Astra automobiles, besides enjoying access to its nation-wide service networks, also has the option to use Astra credit financing and insurance service," Rini said.

"Full customer satisfaction is the watchword in all Astra companies," Rini added.
