Astaga!com has new channels

JAKARTA (JP): News portal Astaga!com announced over the weekend 10 new content channels covering sports, crime, technology, gossip, music, film, dining, tourism, entertainment and health.

The portal's president, Andrew Hayek, said it now had 13 channels of content, ranging from breaking news to reviews of new music as well as various free features like e-mail, chat, messaging, games and fax.

Hayek said the portal, which was launched in February, now had over 500,000 pages per view per day and more than 170,000 registered users.

Astaga!com, which is owned by Indonesia Online and backed by investors including Batavia Investments and Olympus Capital Holdings Asia, plans to go public later this year. (cst)
