Association assures rattan supply

CIREBON, West Java: The Indonesia Rattan Businessmen's
Association (APRI) has said that it would assure the supply of
rattan to craftsmen in Cirebon, local Craftsmen and Furniture
Association chairman Sumarca said on Saturday.

In a recent meeting with APRI, the association leaders agreed
they would supply 5,000 tons of rattan a month to Cirebon, where
at least 157 craftsmen were listed with the association,

Craftsmen in Cirebon have complained about a shortage of
rattan in the regency. -- JP
