Assembly to discuss DPD's authority

JAKARTA: The People's Consultative Assembly (MPR) secretariat
will organize a workshop on the functions, duties and authority
of the newly formed Regional Representatives Council (DPD), which
will make up about one-fourth of the MPR.

Speakers at the three-day workshop will include the South
Africa Parliament's former undersecretary Peter Lilienfeld.

A number of legislators, including Jacob Tobing of the
Indonesian Democratic Party of Struggle (PDI-P) and Ali Masykur
Musa of the National Awakening Party (PKB), will also speak. - JP
