Aspac looking for IBL crown
JAKARTA: Aspac Texmaco is seeking to continue its winning form, which has given it three consecutive championships in the now-obsolete professional competition known as Kobatama, in the newly established Indonesian Basketball League (IBL).
"We want to become champion five times. Now that three are already in our hands, we need another two. We are looking to sweep all four series in the IBL," Irawan Haryono, the manager of the Jakarta-based Aspac, told a media conference here on Wednesday.
The opening series will be staged in Bandung, West Java, from May 23 to May 30.
Aspac, the Kobatama champion in 2000, 2001 and 2002, will open the IBL campaign with 18 players including five new recruits: Antonius Joko Endratmo, Mario Wuysang, Ivan Adidarma, M. Isman Thoyib and Albert Chiuman.--JP
