Asia-Pacific conference canceled
YOGYAKARTA: The 4th Asia Pacific Roundtable for Cleaner Production (APRCP) Conference scheduled to be held in Yogyakarta from Oct. 21 to Oct. 24 has been canceled following the Bali terror attacks that killed nearly 200 people last week.
Rudi Pesik, a member of the event organizing committee, said in statement made available to the Jakarta Post that the conference would be moved to much safer Phuket, Thailand from Dec. 12 to Dec. 18.
"The decision was taken by APRCP headquarters in Manila," he said.
The conference was expected to feature 300 participants, 120 of them had confirmed their entry prior to the cancellation. --JP
